Review and Ranking
What is City Funders?
City Funders appears to have been shut down. It's previous review is kept below for historical purposes.
It specializes in New York City real estate equity and debt. They have one of the lowest fees at $30 - $40 per year (versus 1% of entire investment average).
They also pre-fund their investments. However, this advantage is somewhat offset by the fact that they are also the sponsor on their investments. So the marketplace does not function as a second due diligence check, nor a third-party to keep tabs on the sponsor (as occurs on many other marketplaces).
Advantages: Pre-Funding, rock-bottom fees at $30 - $40.
Disadvantages: As both marketplace and sponsor, the investments have not gone through a second due diligence check, nor does the marketplace function as an independent third party to keep tabs on the sponsor.
Accolades: #2 for New York City real estate, #2 for lowest fees.
